Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sentinel Security platform, mobile applications, hardware devices, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Sentinel Security LLC ("Sentinel," "we," "our") reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.

2. Service Description

Sentinel provides AI-powered home security monitoring through a combination of hardware (cameras, hub devices, sensors) and cloud-based software. Key features include:

  • Real-time video monitoring and AI-driven threat detection
  • Event alerts and notifications
  • Cloud video recording and playback
  • Remote arm/disarm and device management
  • Optional professional monitoring services

The Service is intended for lawful residential and small-business security purposes. Sentinel does not guarantee prevention of crime, property damage, or personal injury.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Each account may manage multiple locations and devices. Account sharing is permitted only through our authorized "Household Members" feature. You may not resell or redistribute access to the Service.

4. Hardware and Warranty

Sentinel hardware is sold or leased separately and is subject to its own limited warranty. Hardware warranty covers manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the date of delivery. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, unauthorized modification, or environmental factors.

Installation is the customer's responsibility unless a professional installation service is purchased. Sentinel is not liable for damage caused during self-installation.

5. Billing and Subscriptions

Subscription plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Sentinel may change pricing with 30 days' notice.

Free trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings; service continues until the end of the current billing period.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which details how we collect, use, and protect your data including video footage and biometric information.

7. Surveillance Disclosure

You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding video and audio surveillance, including but not limited to:

  • Posting visible notices that surveillance cameras are in use where required by law
  • Obtaining consent for audio recording in jurisdictions that require it (two-party consent states)
  • Not placing cameras in areas where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy (bathrooms, bedrooms of guests, etc.)
  • Complying with employee monitoring laws if cameras are used in a workplace setting

Sentinel provides tools and settings to help you comply, but ultimate legal responsibility rests with you.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SENTINEL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFITS.

Sentinel's total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

The Service depends on internet connectivity, power supply, and third-party infrastructure. Sentinel is not liable for failures caused by outages, natural disasters, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

9. AI Disclaimer

Sentinel uses artificial intelligence and machine learning models for threat detection, person recognition, and event classification. These systems are probabilistic and may produce:

  • False positives — alerts for events that are not actual threats
  • False negatives — failure to detect or alert on genuine security events
  • Misclassifications — incorrect categorization of detected objects or persons

AI-generated alerts and classifications are provided as informational aids and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for security decisions. Sentinel does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated outputs.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. Sentinel may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or for any reason with 30 days' notice.

Upon termination, your access to the Service ceases immediately. Cloud recordings and account data will be retained for 30 days after termination to allow for data export, after which they will be permanently deleted. Hardware purchased outright remains your property.
